Stepney Green Park is an ongoing project I am developing with Théophile Farant. Inspired by Georges Perec’s An Attempt at Exhausting a Place in Paris, we are trying to describe a single place as fully as possible through filming, writing, drawing and 3D simulation.

The park is in East London, five minutes from my home, and somewhere I go to exercise every day. It gives us a familiar place to return to and observe through different media.

The project brings together a live-action documentary and a 3D simulation. The intended film will move between images recorded in the park and images made in its virtual counterpart.

So far, we have filmed a full day from morning to night and begun scanning elements of the park. We are starting to assemble scans of the environment, objects and people. The project is still in development, with the filmed material and virtual space being built alongside each other.
